Тема урока: Code of Conduct (Этика поведения)

 

Цель урока:

учебная – совершенствование лексических навыков по теме «Секретари»; формирование лексических навыков по теме «Code of Conduct”; формирование грамматические навыков (задачи – в зависимости от уровня группы);

развивающая – развитие навыков аудирования;

познавательная – поведение на переговорах.

 

 

Тип урока: комбинированный.

 

  1. Вопросы к теме "Secretaries”.

1. What two types of secretaries do you know?

2. Are directors free to appoint any suitable person for this position?

3. What person can be a company secretary?

4. Can a company secretary be a director of the company?

*4. Аудирование «Handshaking»  - студенты переводят предложения, прочитанные учителем.  

 

In ancient time handshaking was a gesture of peace demonstrating that your hands hold no weapons.

You shouldn’t shake hands in gloves. It is a derogatory (унижающий) behavior.

Your handshaking should not be strong. When your handshaking is too strong, it is considered that you show your dominance with it.

Your handshaking should not be weak. In this case it is considered cold.

An arm-long distance between handshaking persons is country.

An elbow-long distance between handshaking persons is urban.

Women and men never shake hands in Islamic countries.

 

*5. Аудирование "Social courtesy in Great Britain”.

Great Britain is a most developed country in terms of etiquette. English gentlemen are known all over the world. As for greeting, it is usual to shake hands. Both women and men can shake hands. It is forbidden to kiss hands and say compliments before the public. It is not decent (indecent).

 

It is important to remember a table etiquette. You should keep your hands on your knees, not on the table. You should not speak with you neighbor at the table, but listen to the one who is speaking. If you want to express your ideas, you should speak loudly. All guests should have a chance to listen to your ideas.

 

Germany.

You should name the title of the person you are speaking to. If you don’t know the title, you can say "Herr Docter!”. The word doctor doesn’t mean a doctor who cures illnesses. It is a greeting. In the restaurant you should say "Bon Appetit”

 

Spain

If your companion invites you to have breakfast with him, you should reject the invitation, because it is just a sign of politeness. You should also reject a second invitation. You can agree only to the third invitation. It is the third invitation that will be sincere. Besides, you should not come in time. You should be 15-20 minutes late. It is considered polite.

На реплику преподавателя необходимо правильно среагировать.

 

Преподаватель: Good-buy

Студент: Buy-buy

 

Преподаватель: It has been nice seeing you.

Студент: I hope to see you again soon.

 

Далее вместо преподавателя выступает один из студентов.

 

7. Клишепредставления (знакомства)

  • May I introduce Mr. Brown?
  • I’d like you to meet Mr. Brown.
  • This is Mr. Brown.
  • Mr. Smith, I would like you to meet Mr. Brown. He is doing business in chemicals. He is Vice President of British Chemicals Ltd. His office is not far from yours, in London

 

When two persons are introduced they often exchange the following:

 

Hello – Hello

How do you do – How do you do

+ I am grad to meet you

I am pleased to meet you

It is nice to meet you.

 

8. Разыграть сцену знакомства.

Вызвать двух студентов.

 

Преподаватель: Mr. Smith, May I introduce Mr. Brown?

Student 1. How do you do. (Hello). It is nice to meet you.

Student 2. How do you do. (Hello) I am glad to meet you.

 

Далее вызывать по три студента (вместо преподавателя)

 

9. Озвучить немое кино, тема «Знакомство»

Студентам включается видеоролик без звука. Задание – озвучить видеоролик.

После проверки варианта студентов, включить видеоролик со звуком.

11. Прочитать текст "Code of Conduct”

When you are introduced listen carefully to each name and use it later in your conversation. This will help you to remember the name. If you forget a person’s name or did not hear the name do not hesitate to say:

            I am sorry I have forgotten your name.

            I am sorry I did not hear your name.

 

In many English speaking countries handshaking is a social courtesy whenever people meet or are introduced. When men meet or are introduced they generally shake hands. Women shake hands less frequently. Kissing is prevalent at parties when people meet.

 

Sometimes people are to introduce speakers to audience on some formal occasions. For example:

 

Ladies and gentlemen! It is a privilege for me to introduce Mr. Watts. Mr. Watts is a recognized authority in the management field. He is a member of the advisory committee for the labour and management program. Mr. Watt’s topic tonight is:

 

            How to organize an effective business programme. Mr. Watts!

When one businessman wishes to have a business talk with another and to visit him he first is to make an appointment either by telephone or by exchanging letters.

 

Here is an example of how a business visit is carried out:

 

Receptionist: Good morning, sir.

Mr. Brown: Good morning, I have an appointment with Mr. James. My name is Mr. Hill. Could you tell me where his office is?

 

Receptionist: Please take a seat for a moment, sir. I’ll ring through to his office and tell him you are here.

Mr. Brown: Thank you so much. I hope he is expecting me.

 

Receptionist: Mr. Brown, Mr. James’ secretary is just coming down to meet you. She’ll take you up to his office.

 

Mr. James’ secretary: Mr. Brown?

Mr. Brown: That’s right. Good morning.

 

Mr. James’ secretary: Good morning, Sir. Iа you’d like to come with me we can to up straight away.

Mr. Brown: Thank you. Which way?

 

Mr. James’ secretary: This way, please.

Mr. Brown: Oh, is it the twentieth floor?

 

Mr. James’ secretary: You are quite right. The twentieth floor. It’s our new office. We have moved in this month.

Mr. Brown: It is very impressive building.

 

Mr. James’ secretary: Here we are. This way, please. Mr. James, Mr. Brown.

Mr. James: Good morning. I’m happy to see you. We haven’t met for ages. How are you?

Mr. Brown: Good morning, Mr. James. I’m glad to see you too. I’m fine. And I hope you are quite all right.

 

Mr. James: Thank you. I hope you had a very good trip.

Mr. Brown: You are quite right. It was very smooth. Thought when I lift London it was rather warm but here in New York the weather is not very good.

 

Mr. James: Oh, it is nasty.We hate it. But it can’t be helped.

Mr. Brown: Then we should better get down to business.
